Wellness & Vaccines
During a wellness exam, we evaluate your cat from nose to tail and evaluate all systems including skin, mouth, eyes, ears, and internal organs. During this time, we may discover things that prompt further diagnostic evaluation

Vaccine Titer Testing
Is your cat strictly indoor and does not come in contact with any other pets? Do you not want to “over-vaccinate?” At Care of Fayette, we believe in tailoring to the lifestyle of a patient and taking an integrative approach to patient health. Studies have shown that most vaccines last in our pet’s system for over 1 year. That is why we offer titer testing for core vaccines to test if they are maintaining adequate protection against the most common viruses
Ask about titer testing your cat at their next appointment

Kitten Services
Kitten core vaccinations are listed below:
-
6-8 weeks: 1st FVRCP
-
10-12 weeks: 2nd FVRCP, +/- 1st FelV
-
14-16 weeks: 3rd FVRCP, Rabies, +/- 2nd FelV
If your kitten is older or you have questions about vaccine series, we can discuss the proper schedule at your appointment.
Spay & Neuter
We recommend spaying and neutering your cat once they have hit the 4 to 6 month age range. Spaying and neutering as an older kitten allows for hormones to facilitate adequate growth. Both spaying and neutering helps to decrease the population of stray cats, especially if your kitty is indoor-outdoor or has outdoor access.
-
Spay: Helps prevent the development of mammary cancer in older females as well as undesired behavior such as yowling and scooting.
-
Neuter: Helps prevent undesired behavior such as spraying/marking, roaming, and aggression.
